Clickfunnels Limitations And Notes
LTV Numbers' reported revenue often does not match Clickfunnels' Funnel Stats. We've seen as much as a 25% discrepancy
Clickfunnels Funnel Stats shows gross revenue which does not include refunds while LTV Numbers reports revenue which does include refunds
LTV Numbers is based on the real data of Clickfunnels' sales exports. In other words, the funnel stats do not line up with the source of truth
To verify for yourself, export a funnels' sales records, total up the revenue, and compare to the funnel stats page
With subscription products, Clickfunnels will report revenue that's expected from a charge after e.g. a 7 day trial but will report that expected revenue on the day the trial started as if a real payment occurred even if there was no payment. Furthermore, if that trial is cancelled or never actually paid, Clickfunnels will not update the expected revenue. This is one way that Clickfunnels reporting is inaccurate.
LTV Numbers data is based on real payments and will process subscription revenue from the platform where the payment actually took place, such as Stripe.
If there are product names appearing in LTV Numbers' list of funnels, these are from the sales of a deleted funnel
To remove the product names, either add the corresponding funnel in LTV Numbers' Settings or contact us to remove them from the funnel list for you
This is caused by Clickfunnels' historical data export containing funnel ids but omitting funnel names. Since the product name is all the information available, it is used in place of the funnel name
Note that Clickfunnels exports do not contain refunds so any historical refunds prior to setup with LTV Numbers (specifically webhooks) will not be reflected in LTV Numbers.
Clickfunnels Limitations with NMI
When using NMI as a payment processor, much of the metadata from a historical sale is lost and cannot be recovered due to the data structure of NMI and Clickfunnels but is present in webhook data
To be more precise, Clickfunnels' historical data exports contain an "Additional Info" field which contains numerous values such as UTMs, standard Clickfunnels values like Clickfunnels affiliate IDs and UVIDs, and perhaps other custom URL parameters. Strangely, the contents and format of this "Additional Info" field vary depending on the payment processor and are entirely missing for NMI. Thus this information is lost.
Clickfunnels Limitations with PayPal
LTV Numbers must use the Clickfunnels product information because the Clickfunnels PayPal subscription products are not associated with PayPal plans
PayPal v1 Buttons:
LTV Numbers can receive subscriptions if the Clickfunnels 3rd party products are set up properly. See setup instructions here. Be sure to include the Clickfunnels notify url in the PayPal button advanced settings.
If you integrate LTV Numbers directly with PayPal in addition to Clickfunnels, transactions through the PayPal v1 button will be duplicated as they will be ingested into LTV Numbers from both PayPal and Clickfunnels.
Note that while Clickfunnels supports PayPal v1 buttons, they recommend the PayPal v2 integration.
For PayPal v2 integrations with a paid trial, the initial payment will be associated with the Clickfunnels funnel, but the subsequent rebills will not because there is no way to tie the rebills to the paid trial.
For Clickfunnels CSV PayPal subscription lines of historical data, if the subscription ID is prefixed with something other than "I-" (such as "PAYID-") then this is a one-off paid trial payment that needs to be formatted directly. The rebills that come in will not be able to be associated with the funnel.
